We first meet Glinda upon Dorothy's arrival to the land of Oz from Kansas where she gifts Dorothy with the Red Ruby Slippers from the Wicked Witch of the East and explains to her that in order to get back home she must follow the Yellow Brick Road all the way to Emerald City and meet the Wonderful Wizard of Oz. Upon Dorothy's arrival to the Emerald City and her meeting with the Wizard, Glinda shows her that she has had the power to get back home all along, it was right there on her feet!
