With the release of the much anticipated, revamped 40's children's legendary circus movie, Disney realized the full potential of the classic movie making Disney's Dumbo the ultimate circus story. Dumbo's artistic beauty and story is as much an American classic as any can be, so much so that it was added to the 2017 National Film Registry (created by the Library of Congress) for its historical, aesthetic, and cultural significance. The story of Dumbo is an expressive one of tragedy and perseverance. Quite like the time in which it was created. The original Dumbo is equal parts grieving and overcoming, when the newly orphaned and special elephant must learn how to live without his mother in the new and scary world of the circus. It is easy to see how Dumbo became a box office hit during the difficult times of the 1940s when the country was not healed from the depression, war, and the dust bowl migration.

Halloween is a time to not only be filled with spooky stories and decoration. It’s also a time to have fun dressing up as another character. You get to be somebody you have always dreamed of. You get to become a rockstar celebrity, or even the President. With a hundred different options to choose from, it can get overwhelming. Once you decide on a costume idea, it’s almost never complete without a bit of makeup to accentuate the look.
