Where Does Homestead Go for Halloween Costumes?
Does anyone know the answer? If you search for a Homestead costume shop on the web, you are going to see almost anything but. You’re going to see department stores that don’t specialize in costumes, seasonal shops that close down indefinitely and even a store that specializes in costumes for guinea pigs! Maybe it depends what time of the year you search for costumes in Homestead but even during the Halloween season the results are slim. If you don’t know any better, you are going to end up somewhere near downtown Miami because that is where the closest specialty costume store is in proximity to Homestead. Or is it? Well, surprise! That is far from the truth. There is a place much closer to Homestead that specializes in costumes: Wonder Costumes.
We are actually located in West Kendall, but as most of our customers from Homestead tell us, our location is “super convenient.” South Florida is huge and a trip north past Kendall Drive can take you into another dimension. Well, maybe not another dimension, but you will definitely be testing time and space as you will be bumper to bumper for hours before you reach one of those places you thought to be the closest to Homestead.
Homestead Needs More Halloween Events
It’s not hard to understand why Homestead doesn’t have any specialty Halloween costume shops. As we recently found out while putting together a South Florida Halloween event guide, there really isn’t much going on in Homestead during Halloween. Everyone in Homestead, Naranja, Florida City, Princeton and Goulds has to travel to Miami hot spots in order to enjoy premier Halloween events. Likewise, everyone—excluding guinea pigs—looking to dress up for those events has to travel to find a specialty costume store. There may be a few places in South Dade that sell Halloween products during October but they are either pharmacies or general merchandise superstores that don’t have much variety in costumes anyway. Maybe this would change if Homestead had a few more Halloween events that call for costumes. There is always the annual City of Homestead Halloween Celebration held at Harris Field Pavilion, but that is about all there is—or at least all that is promoted online. If Homestead had a bigger Halloween scene it would make perfect sense for a specialty costume shop to set up right in the heart of the city. Heck, we may even expand our company south and rake in the Halloween dollars that are being left on the table, but until Halloween in Homestead is a promising business, don’t expect to see any costume shops pop up.
Possible Alternative to Homestead Costume Retailers
If you live in Homestead and don’t want to travel far, you can always shop online for your Halloween costumes. We understand why you wouldn’t want to take a trip to Miami; we are in Kendall and even we dread traveling to areas as close as the Gables because of the traffic. Shopping for costumes online is a great alternative for Homestead residents since you would be able to receive you product in the mail without ever getting in your car. You may have to pay a small shipping fee but that is nothing compared to the amount of money you’d spend on gas driving to Miami or on Ibuprofen for the headaches that you will get from getting stuck in the horrid South Florida traffic.
Regardless of what you choose to do, we guarantee you that our store is the best bet for Homestead Halloweeners to find costumes. We are conveniently located in Southwest Miami-Dade and we are available all year long—with special hours during the Halloween season. If you opt to buy online, we also operate this website with endless Halloween costumes and accessories that will make it down to Homestead in no time thanks to our proximity. There really is no better place for costume shoppers in Homestead. Call us at 305-253-5380 or e-mail email@example.com.
