With the New Aquaman Costume, We Know He Means Business!

After the debut of the first Justice League trailer at San Diego Comic Con, the Internet has been going wild! With an awesome official look at the whole superhero cast and especially, the new Aquaman costume that Jason Momoa will be wearing in the upcoming film, the anticipation has only just begun. Fans are absolutely loving the Justice League but one small controversy is the fact that there are only six team members when originally the Justice League were known to have seven members. If you remember, when the first look was released of Jason Momoa as Aquaman all fully dressed up in his costume, it read on the photo “Unite the Seven.” Now some believed it meant unite the seven seas for Aquaman’s own cause but the Justice League film was soon to begin production so the saying moved towards the film. 

Aquaman is one of the few superheroes that took everyone’s breath away in the new trailer. Fans haven’t really seen much of him other than his small appearance in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, so this new footage was big. The ladies are obviously huge supporters for DC’s casting of Jason Momoa, and it’s a tiny bit of a controversy among comic book fans as this is a whole new take on Aquaman; all in all, the love and support is there for Khal Drogo..oops..Jason Momoa.

We’re really talking a whole new take on the Aquaman costume! The iconic and well-known Aquaman in the comics was a bearded blondie swimming around in a skintight costume. There’s no denying that Aquaman is still an awesome superhero and has had many great story lines in the past but it’s hard for people to imagine how he can truly put up a fight on land. I’m pretty sure DC definitely has something in mind.  

Even though some may not take Aquaman seriously since he’s basically a guy that can talk to fish, Jason Momoa will make sure that this character will not be taken as a joke. DC will also make sure of it with a brand new costume design. Obviously, no one had it in mind to make Jason rock the skintight orange and green costume with the fish scales; no they instead gave Aquaman some badass armor with the fish scales designed on it and even tattooed on his body, and they also gave him the iconic trident. Even just the tattoos itself on Aquaman, they add a lot more seriousness to the character. Everyone can admit that Jason Momoa is a big guy, even bigger than Henry Cavill and with this costume design, DC is looking to show off those muscles. That’ll work out pretty well since Aquaman is known to have superhuman strength.

Honestly, I can go on for hours on how epic these costumes are! Cyborg’s costume looks straight out of the comics and that is beyond awesome but let’s keep focus on Aquaman’s new costume to the far right. This costume is very different from the one shown before and will probably be used for when he goes into serious battle later in the film. We’ll maybe see him in the original once he makes his debut on-screen. This costume has what seems to be a dark green color, one of the original Aquaman colors. One color that’s actually missing in the costume is the orange; all of the armor on the costume is designed with a bronze/gold color. Even though Jason is all covered, the costume still shows how buff he truly is. As we saw in the trailer, Aquaman is not a person you want to mess with; the guy literally picked up Batman and slammed him against the wall for saying the wrong words.

Justice League is still in production and a lot more footage is expected to come out later this year. From what we’ve seen, the hype is already flying high as we’re being introduced to the team of superheroes we’ve been waiting to see for a very long time on-screen. The upcoming film Justice League is expected release into theaters on November 17, 2017! Wow, that’s really long wait; I hope it’s worth it!
