Halloween on a Budget: Affordable Kids Costumes of 2016

Hey, parents! Halloween is expensive, especially if you have a brood of children. So, I figured I'd help everyone out with this post. P.S., the costumes listed are based off of Wonder Costumes' current prices and are all under $30, making them some of the most affordable kids' costumes of 2016. 

5. Little Red Riding Hood

I love this costume. Any little girl will shine in this outfit. Little Red Riding Hood is a classic and every little girl should have a chance to be her. Plus, the low price helps parents out. Also, teach your daughter how to punch! That way, she'll never be harassed by a weird wolf.

4. Shrek is Life (Apparently)

I do not, for the life of me, understand the obsession with Shrek. Sure, I liked the movies, but that's about it. Maybe I wasn't chosen to be enlightened by Shrek's presence, who knows. Either way, this costume is a winner. Just look at that head piece. Any child would look adorable in it.

3. Ninja Warrior

Honestly, every kid should learn a little bit of self-defense. If your child takes karate, they'll love this affordable kid costume. When my sister was younger, we watched Wendy Wu: Homecoming Warrior. We even talked about drop kicking unsuspecting villains. Sadly, we never did learn any cool tricks or run into any villains. However, maybe I'll find the adult version of this costume and learn a few moves.

2. Witch Fun

Forget the witching hour, it's witching time. October is full of magical movies and this costume is as cute as can be. It reminds me of Practical Magic when they jumped off the roof. I highly suggest against recreating that scene, but there's no shame in recreating the outfits! It's a definite crowd pleaser. Side note, would it be bad to have multiple Halloween costumes? I mean, if I were a kid, I'd totally go around the neighborhood twice. The more candy, the better. Well, maybe not for my teeth.

1. Captain America

Marvel has been pumping out some grade-A movies and although I'm an Iron Man fan, this Captain America outfit takes the cake. Plus, this Affordable kids costume is officially licensed, so you're not giving your child some basic knock-off. Captain America is loyal, honorable, and strong. He's a great role model for your children and definitely tops all the other costumes. I'm probably extremely biased, oh well.
