An Infatuation with Mermaid Transformations

Little girls love wearing their Mermaid costumes on Halloween. These beautiful and mystical creatures dwell in the abyss where they have a splashing good time interacting with other sea creatures--that may not be known for their communication with humans. Stories about these enchanting creatures used to surface (no pun) from seafarers who traveled the oceans and claimed to have witnessed beautiful mermaids sitting on rocks with the sunset as a backdrop.  In modern days, stories have also influenced the way that people perceive mermaids.  Stories like "The Little Mermaid" or the live-action movie, "Splash," have inspired girls all over the world to attempt to look like these magical beings.  Ariel, in the heart-warming Disney movie, is featured as a mermaid who explores the ocean with her two friends, Sebastian and Flounder, but grows a strong desire to have legs to walk the earth's surface among humans--lovely story with a magical ending (you must see it for yourself).  It is no wonder why little girls clamor for Mermaid Costumes after seeing the Little Mermaid movie.  There are many mermaid costumes for your child to choose from, such as the mermaid tail dress or even dragging fin costumes. Some of these outfits even expand at the tail, giving the optical illusion of real fins.

Mermaids come in all different shapes, sizes, and hair colors too! Dye your child's hair with a one day spray dye to turn her locks any color she desires. As for the mermaid costumes, you’ll find the standard “green tail” and shell top, or even a full suit. The benefits of the full mermaid suits is that they are more comfortable when Trick or Treating.  They can protect your child from the cold, and allow them a free range of movement.

Most of the mermaid costumes are made from soft fabrics such as cotton and silk, and may even be decorated with fabulous beads. The beaded ones aim to replicate the scales on the fin to give your girl more of an “authentic” mermaid look. If you want, you can add certain accessories, like sea Tiaras and matching beaded necklaces. Try to pick out a pair of shoes that match the color of the fin. This will make it blend in, causing the outfit to have a “realistic” look that will surely fool anyone into thinking: is this a real mermaid?
