The classic children's book Alice's Adventures In Wonderland (1865) and the follow-up literary treasure Through the Looking-Glass, and What Alice Found There (1871) were written by Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, better known by his pen name Lewis Carroll. The books read by both children and adults, were an instant sensation with literary readers the world over. They were nonsensical, humorous, creepy, exciting and weird, which is probably why readers became fascinated with the book. Even now, Alice In Wonderland is one of those classics that still maintains mass appeal.
