Frozen: The "Coolest" Animated Film
In 2013, a new Disney movie was released to the public, destined to be a huge success. Frozen is a refreshing tale with numerous plot twists, humorous characters, astonishing graphics, and breathtaking music. Within the opening week, the world began to spiral into a Frozen craze. Everywhere you went, fans would belt out the lyrics to ‘Let it Go’ or continuously ask if you wanted to build a snowman. Sooner or later everyone warmed up to Frozen; many describe it as the best Disney movie or even the best animated film ever. This movie is different from the previous Disney films in the best ways possible. The genius storyline captures the audience from the beginning and keeps them on their toes through the film. The chart topping songs are catchy and perfect to sing along to. In addition, the movie has a great message: No girl needs a "Prince Charming" to save her. Together, these ingredients have made for a flawless mixture that has had audiences talking for over a year.
A huge part of Frozen’s success comes from the entertaining and relatable animated individuals. This chillingly marvelous masterpiece has not only one, but two princesses, making it even more appealing to its younger viewers. The two different personalities have varied followers who want to look and be just like them.
Anna is the quirky princess filled with love and optimism who has a marvelous heart. This clumsy heroine stole your heart from coronation day to the very last heroic moment. In Anna's shoes, many can relate to being the younger sister or being deceived by a boyfriend or someone they thought they could trust.
Elsa, the fierce Snow Queen, was an unintentional villain in the movie as well as a hero. This irony was yet another engaging aspect of the film. This beautiful queen is especially loved for her performance of ‘Let it Go,’ where she creates a sparkling gown that many envied. Her stunning gown and elegant braid make for a look that fans wish to recreate. From Arendelle to your screen, powerful Elsa froze the kingdom and everyone's hearts; our love for her has yet to start thawing.
Let’s not forget the male characters. Hans and Kristoff were both a part of Anna's adventure. True love, betrayal, and a couple of songs later, the theater was filled with shocked expressions at a side of Hans no one could have seen coming. And a kiss from Kristoff with good intent shocked the audience in a completely different way.
Last but far from least, no Disney film could be complete without a sidekick. Olaf, the comic-relief snowman, had the crowd laughing throughout the movie. Filled with innocent love and joy, Olaf melted the public's heart and had everyone rooting for him.
This girl-power animated picture revealed a side of Disney that everyone was waiting to see. It's not the typical fairy tale and is sure to be a topic of conversation among all ages for years to come. Frozen is an unstoppable movie that took over the world and will continue to be popular in the generations ahead.
