Mushrooms are one of the best toppings to put on pizza but did you know that they could even be used to produce strong colorful dyes for fabrics? Mushrooms are very interesting type of Fungus; they can edible and even curative or extremely toxic and deadly. Mushrooms thrive in humidity and are often part of the process of decomposition. Humans don’t think about it much but that doesn’t really sound so appetizing, nonetheless, they can be delicious.

Mushrooms are very popular worldwide and they are often the focus of many dishes and they are even used in famous works of fiction. If you thought that mushrooms play a big role in the life of humans, imagine how the Smurfs must feel about them, they make cozy homes for the little blue guys. Other popular characters like the Super Mario Brothers consume mushrooms for their magical powers that allow them to grow in size and provide additional life to continue to battle Koopa Troopas and Goombas. Even one of the Mario Brothers main allies is Toadstool (this is another word for mushroom), a protector and servant of Princess Peach of the Mushroom Kingdom. In the Adventures of Alice in Wonderland, Alice experienced a similar effect as the Mario Brothers when she consumed a mushroom that made her change in size.
